Mr.Johnstone said that the introduction of the Wrexham - New Brighton diesel service in September, 1959 had also been postponed owing to delivery dates of units from Derby Works being put back. This had resulted in the withdrawal of the Bidston - Seacombe service, which had been agreed by the T.U.C.C., being deferred.
The present system of inter-departmental contacts regarding delivery of units in relation to the schedule of allocation appended to the minutes was considered and it was agreed that the D.T.S. and C.M.& E.E. jointly decide the dates for the introduction of future services in relation to the C.M.& E.E's most up-to-date knowledge of deliveries.
At the request of the Chairman, Mr.Stanley will supply him with information regarding the late delivery of the 50 2-car sets from Messrs.Cravens and the 12 2-car sets from Derby Works.
Noted that the report of the working party is now in its final stages.
Noted that two diesel parcels vans for the Manchester Part 2 scheme and two for the St.Pancras Suburban scheme are expected to be delivered during the first two weeks of September, 1959.
Revised schedule of allocation attached as Appendix "B".
Noted that the East Midland Area T.U.C.C. had deferred the proposal for withdrawal of the passenger service between Buckingham and Banbury, the Committee's contention being that the case and the economics therefrom should be made solely on the withdrawal of the service on this section, disassociated from the effects of introduction of diesel working upon the Bletchley - Buckingham section.
Revised financial statement will be prepared and the proposal re-submitted to the T.U.C.C.
