Commission approval given in principle for preliminary expenditure. Noted that formal submission now with the Regional Accountant for costing.
Mr.Lambert reported that work on the site was proceeding and sufficient facilities would be available to enable service to commence on September 14th. The question of temporary lighting which would be required by September would be dealt with.
Mr.Salmon reported that good reaction had resulted from the press following the inspection of June 1st.

Noted that submission for the introduction of diesel service has been withdrawn from the Commission.
Mr.Johnson reported that the submission for the closing of the line to passenger traffic was in course of preparation and the question of statutory powers was in the hands of the Chief Solicitor.
