Reference was made to minute 639(b), Crewe North Shed, and Mr.Taylor stated that, although the fuel tanks had been installed, no progress had been made in respect of the pump house or installation of the fuelling stand pipes for diesel locomotives to be sent to Crewe South for fuelling. Mr.Stanley would investigate and report to the Chairman.
With regard to Reddish, the Chairman said that the question of the regional control of the Manchester/ Sheffield electrified lines had again been raised, the suggestion having been made that the L.M.Region maintain the rolling stock on an agency basis and the electrified lines remain under the control of the Eastern Region.
Noted that departmental meeting being held shortly to decide requirements, including maintenance of diesel shunting locomotives.
First part of scheme introduced on June 9th, 1958. Remainder of scheme will be brought into operation on June 15th, 1959.
