Ayr Variety. Glasgow Central High Level with motley DMU formation departing for the Ayrshire coast in lingering snow and slush. The leading triple includes two ex Blackpool white stripe Class 104 Driving Cars sandwiching a Class 107 Trailer. Rear triple is probably MC DMB E53207 + BRCW DMC M53510 + MC DMS E54088. If anything, it shows the versatility of the Blue Square coupling code. Friday 27 January 1984. alicia hartman.

Leading triple has two ex Blackpool white stripe Class 104 Driving Cars sandwiching a Class 107 Trailer. The rear set has two ex West Yorkshire PTE Metro Cammell Driving Cars sandwiching a Class 104 DMC. Rear triple is probably MC DMB E53207 + BRCW DMC M53510 + MC DMS E54088. Ayr Variety. Platform 11 at Glasgow Central High Level with motley six car DMU departing for the Ayrshire coast. An old note book suggests the leading BRCW Triple is M53473 DMBSL (White Stripe) + Sc59789 (107 TSL) + M53525 DMCL (White Stripe and yellow First Class cantrail stripe) as seen at Central on 19/01/1984. The rear lash up is probably MC DMB E53207 + BRCW DMC M53510 + MC DMS E54088, previously seen at Ayr. Three manufacturers / vehicle types, all blue, blue with white stripe, blue - grey ... and 'first class'. Variety, indeed! A rotten photograph, but then again, possibly a rotten journey for commuters in vehicles past their best. Friday 27 January 1984. alicia hartman.
