M53565 is the leading car in this 6-car set (presumably with 59800 + 51992) running into Haymarket station with the ECS for the 06:52 Edinburgh Waverley - Glasgow Central on the 13th June 1984. Hamish Stevenson.
A Class 104 DMS takes the place of a power car in a Class 107 set at Glasgow Central on 24/7/84. Probably 53565 (note the boarded up rear window) with 59800 + 51992. Hamish Stevenson.
One of three images taken at Elderslie on 8 July 1984 - it is unclear what the original order was (see comment!). In this view, two Class 101s - set 313 leading (51239 closest with its higher than normal vehicle number) and a Class 107 vehicle at the rear of the 2nd set - passes another six-car formation in the siding on their way from Glasgow to Ayrshire. This contained DMSL SC52026 from set 107432 working with two 101 vehicles, and a 104/107/107 combo thought to be 53565 + 59800 + 51992 - the latter two being the rest of 107432. In this view, a six-car formation in the siding contains DMSL SC52026 from set 107432 with two 101 vehicles, and a 104/107/107 combo, thought to be 53565 + 59800 + 51992. The engines are being revved up, but there is no sign of smoke from the closest car or the 104, that and the Class 47 could be signs that this train had been a failure. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Awaiting departure from Platform 4 at Glasgow Queen Street station on the 5th April 1985 is Ayr allocated Class 104 set 367 formed of DMCL 53510, TBSL 59210 & DMCL 53565. All arrived in Scotland from the Manchester area during early 1984. Their stay was fairly brief as all three were scrapped at Vic Berry's yard in Leicester during July 1986. Bob Woolnough.
