During the Crewe Engineering Blockade in the summer of 1985 the only way for passengers to reach Crewe was via a DMU shuttle service from Stafford. This is the shuttle train, photo taken at 05.20 hrs on 18 July 1985. The unit consists of cars 54487 + 51904 / 51175 + 54350. Lewis Bevan.
Still in Regional Railways livery but operating for First North Western, a pair of Met-Cam Class 101's, 101658 (54091 + 51175) & 101661 (51463 & 54365) were departing ECS from Blackpool North on October 27th 1997. This had been a Saturday only working for 101's during the Spring/Summer/Autumn of 1997, the units working to the Fylde Coast as the 09.45 Manchester Piccadilly to Blackpool North service and returning back to Manchester ECS.
