Class 101 (53322 + 59117 + 51180) Cheddleton, 10 June 1984. We weren't travelling on this DMU having done the local lines on an earlier Railtour in 1981. We fell over it so to speak when we called in at The North Staffs Railway the day after the Ruddington Requiem Railtour on our way from Derby up to the Manchester and Leeds areas visiting preserved and industrial railway locations. A hybrid cl.101/110 set, with 51180 leading 59701 and 53245 (the last being ex- ScR set 101 365), departs from Brough on the 17.11 to Hull on 18/4/90. This service was mainly for the benefit of homegoing workers from the adjacent BAe aircraft factory. Leonard Rogers.
