Cardiff allocated Class 119 DMU set C596 (presumably 51076 + 59416 + 51099) circa 1978, location unknown. Stuart Mackay Collection.
GRC&W Class 119 set C596 (presumably 51099 + 59416 + 51076) leads a suburban set coming off the Frome loop at Blatchbridge Junction on the 4th August 1979. Steve Davies Collection.
The Branch Line Society "South Devon" railtour is seen on the Cattewater branch (Plymouth) on 10 May 1980. This was a point before the tunnel. Set C596 is formed 51099 + 59416 + 51076. Jeremy Chapter.

Class 119 DMU set C596 (W51099 and presumably 59416 + 51076) enters Severn Tunnel Junction station with a refurbished Class 101 on the rear in late 1979. Michael Mensing.
Class 119 DMU set B596 (51099 + 59416 + 51076) stands at Weymouth Town station having just arrived with train 2O58 the 13.00 from Westbury via Yeovil Pen Mill on September 17, 1983. When this was taken the station at Weymouth was in something of a time warp with cream and green "southern railway' colours still adorning the buildings. Adrian Nicholls.

After reversal at Worcester Shrub Hill on 29 March 1986 class 119, identifiable by the red stickers denoting extra luggage space when used on trains to Gatwick Airport, set B596 (presumably 51076 + 59416 + 51099) was routed around the sharp curve towards Worcester Foregate Street and onward to Malvern and Hereford. The structure unfortunately only part-visible in the foreground is thought to be the remnants of a World War 2 air-raid shelter, complete with flue for a heating stove, for use by railway staff. ABirmingham to Hereford train is seen arriving at Worcester Shrub Hill on 29 March 1986. This time it is class 119 set B596 (51076 + 59416 + 51099) which will reverse in the platform. The driver has been a bit quick in changing the lights on the leading vehicle from white to red prior to coming to a halt. The small signal arm on the gantry was lowered to allow 08781 to leave the station a few minutes later to the site once occupied by the shed. Peter Tandy.

With the position of the sun 'wrong' for an approaching shot, this view was taken from the rear. The front set is number L412 and that nearest the camera is L596. Taken at 17:14, a late afternoon Up service for Paddington on the Relief Line at West Ealing station. 31st March 1992. One of the few class 119 sets to appear in Network South East livery L596 (presumably 51099 + 59416 + 51076) is berthed at Redhill in May 1995. Ian Buck.
Class 116 51153, set number T407 is seen at Tyseley on 18.10.1992. It had been transferred from Cardiff and is seen as part of a scratch set with an NSE liveried Class 119 centre car (presumably 59416). When transferred up from Cardiff they came as 2 cars and Tyseley added any available centre car. Andy Cole.
