A 2-Car Met-Camm DMU set is seen in the vast 1890 built former Midland Railway terminus at Bradford Forster Square. The humble DMU attracting little custom for service 2L57 the 12.30 to Keighley. This big station with its long wide canopied platform was totally rebuilt in 1990 as part of the Aire Valley electrification scheme and in the process lost platform faces and track length in the process as the terminus was shifted north reducing the lines original length. The original Midland terminus mileage being 208m 58ch but now it's 208m 50ch. Adrian Nicholls.

Taken from a Met-Camm unit, the box on the drivers desk with the two glass panels contained the two (left and right) heater controls, the cover protected the switches from the drivers bag. Class 101 Kingsknowe May 1984. A Glasgow Central to Edinburgh train arrives from the west. This was Edinburgh's only proper style road level crossing - the one at South Leith has a strange arrangement of gates and the one at Duddingston & Craigmillar went in the 60s when the freight line to St Leonard's closed. Sadly the box and traditional level crossing gates at Kingsknowe had had gone by the early 80s. Alistair Ness.
