Class 101/108 DMU set P832 (51184 + 59384 + presumably 53642) arrives into Dawlish Warren with Exmouth on the destination blind. Date unknown, allocations narrow it to between September 1990 and May 1992. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Class 101 DMU set 835 (presumably 51498 + 59526 + 51432) at Acton with the 10:03 Paddington - Maidenhead on 15 February 1988. The centre car is the only one of the three to have an orange cantrail stripe which is emphasising its lack of a full length rainstrip. There is another Met-Camm to the right with a suburban centre car, in the distance between the two is a Class 119 DMBC and two Met-Camm sidings. Stuart Mackay Collection.

A 2 car Class 101 sits in the depot at Hereford. DMBS 51209 is closest recently transferred to Tyseley, and still carries the Tyne & Wear PTE symbol from its time at Heaton some years before, and its Norwich set number. Photo taken sometime between 18th & 21st May 1988. Paul James.

Cambridge allocated class 101 DMU set CA85 stands at Harwich Town station waiting to depart with 2K66 the 16.20 to Ipswich on October 22, 1983. By this date Harwich Town was on the end of a single track passenger branch as beyond Harwich Parkeston Quay station the twin track alignment was operated as two separate single lines. Passenger services used the former up line, while freight used the down line to access the Zeebrugge train ferry berth off to the left of the goods shed seen here in the left background.
