3.  Banbury - Bletchley service. - The Chairman said a letter has been received from the B.T.C. stating it is evident that the Central Transport Consultative Committee are fully prepared to see a recommendation that the service be withdrawn on the assumption that the remaining weeks of the trial period yield results which are not markedly different from those already recorded.  The General Manager has asked for a joint report from the officers concerned, and the Chairman asked for this to be submitted as a matter of urgency.

526.  INTER-CITY TRAINS

1.  Design of units. - Noted that a condensed report on the working of the trial vehicles has been sent to the Technical Adviser to the B.T.C; Mr.Finlayson stated that a full report was being sent to the General Manager.

2.  Day to day maintenance. - Joint report now received and noted that it is no longer necessary to give units daily examination, and the examinations which are at present carried out daily could be done at intervals of five days.
