The Chairman welcomed Mr.F.Baker, Economic Survey Officer, to the Committee.
Agreed.
Consideration was given to a request from the D.T.S. for 29 of the 50 2-car (MC + DT) units included in the 1960 programme for the Nottingham-Leicester and old G.C. lines to be altered to MC + MC units, thereby enabling the Manchester Part 3, which requires MC + MC units, to be completed earlier, and for the 1961 requirements to be adjusted accordingly.
It was noted that the Commission had not yet received any requests from other Regions for MC + DT units, and it was not possible at this stage to say whether an inter-regional transfer of units would be possible.
