Noted that C.M.E. had now given the undermentioned revised approximate delivery dates for the L.M. trains :-[>
1st 6-car train - end of October 1959 to Derby
2nd 6-car train - 2nd week in December 1959 to Derby
and had suggested that the first train would require, after delivery, a period of at least 4 to 6 weeks high speed continuous testing.
Mr.Gould stated that the de luxe Pullman service could be put into operation at any date to suit availability of the sets.
Mr.Pearson said that the Commission had again drawn attention to the high proportion of spare train sets and they felt it was not right that the two Regions involved should have different types of vehicles which prevented interchangeability. The Commission desired...
