The 1.48pm Lapworth - Wellington service arrives into Acocks Green station formed of a Derby suburban triple led by W50833 on 27 January 1961. Michael Mensing.
A Derby suburban triple DMU set in Birmingham Snow Hill station on 28 March 1961. Lapworth is on the destination blind. Closest is DMBS W50833, recorded as being delivered to Cardiff in early 1958 and re-allocated to Tyseley circa late 1960 where it would remain until withdrawn in 1988. The centre car seems to be W59341. Michael Mensing.
In late August 1961 W50833 leads a Derby suburban triple DMU at Acocks Green. Leamington is on the destination blind. Michael Mensing.
A Derby suburban triple DMU seen at Acocks Green in September 1961 heading for Lapworth. DMBS W50833 leads, originally a Cardiff vehicle but it would now stay at Tyseley for the remainder of its career. Michael Mensing.
A Derby suburban triple DMU and a GRC&W Cross-Country DMU at Acocks Green in late April 1962. The number of the leading DMBS cannot be clearly read other than ending in a 3, Tyseley only had two of these batch two sets at the time which makes this 50833 (the other being 831). Banbury is on the destination blind. Michael Mensing.
50833 leads Class 116 DMU set TY536 at the north end of KIdderminster on 7 August 1976. Michael Mensing.
A DMU formation at Wigston heading to Birmingham New Street circa mid-1970s. The Class 116 appears to be set TY536 (50833 + 59442 + 50914), the rear set appears to be a Class 120. Phillip Malin.
Class 116 DMBS M50833 seen at Nottingham, date unknown. Paul Redmond.
Class 116 DMBS M50833 seen at Nottingham, date unknown. Paul Redmond.
A pair of two-car Derby Class 116 Suburban DMU's were making a rare appearance at Lostock Hall with a Preston to Colne service on July 11th 1987. The rear set complete with its West Midlands PTE branding was formed of cars M53833 & M54281 (TS251). This was during the period when problems with the almost new Class 142 fleet were manifesting themselves, and the pair of suburbans would have been a short-term loan out from Tyseley Depot to Newton Heath. Martyn Hilbert.
In April 1971 Stratford upon Avon had a complete station as seen with this 116 dmu (set TY536, presumably 50107 + 59442 + 50833) waiting to leave on a service to Birmingham Moor Street. Note the disc signals which indicate what position the starter signals at the end of the platform are in. Stephen Burdett.
Refurbished Class 116 set TY536 at Sutton Coldfield on June 8, 1977. DMS M50107 is closest, the other two vehicles are presumably 59442 + 50833. Michael Mensing.
A Four Oaks service at Five Ways in June 1978 formed of two refurbished Class 116 sets. Closest is TY536 / M50107, presumably with 59442 + 50833. Michael Mensing.
M50107 leads refurbished Class 116 set TY536, presumably with 59442 + 50833, in the Selly Oak - Bournville area in the Spring of 1979. Michael Mensing.
Class 116 DMU set TY536 (presumably 50107 + 59442 + 50833) on a Longbridge service heads down to the tunnel that will pass under Birmingham Moor Street station (seen above the front of the train) and take it to New Street. Date unknown. Ian Dinmore/railarchive.org.uk.
