A Trans-Pennine DMU in Leeds station circa 1969. Only two of these vehicles are known to have had the cab doors painted yellow - NE51960 which had the blue squares inside the lamp brackets, and NE51963 which had the blue squares outside - so this should be the latter, unless there were more than two? Class 124 Trans-Pennine power car E51963 at Newton Heath on 10 June 1973. The oversized 2 in the headcode is probably from a 2-character route indicator which had large digits. David Mant.
A Class 124 Trans-Pennine set at York on 27/08/1976, led by DMC no. 51963. Robert Chilton.
A Swindon Trans-Pennine set arrives into Leeds station on the 11 March 1978 formed of E51963 (rear, closest) + E59767 + E51981 + E51953. Ian Francis.

A four-car Swindon set at Doncaster, date unknown. Three are Trans-Pennine Class 124 vehicles (DMC E51963 closest), the B4 bogies under the third vehicle suggests it is a Class 123 TSL. Stuart Mackay Collection.

From the left, a Class 108, a Trans-Pennine 124 and a Swindon Inter City 123 show off their differing nose jobs at Hull Paragon on 20th April 1984. The only number recorded for posterity was the middle one; E51963 awaits departure for Manchester. Syd Young.
