A general view of the northern end of Selby station on 15th May 1979. A Trans-Pennine set, with E51967 leading, eases over the Ouse swing bridge before calling in with a Hull - Manchester Piccadilly service. Still plenty of railway-related detail around, along with a full cycle shed. The occupants of the house on the right will no doubt be bracing themselves for the next Deltic-hauled service to shake them to the core. Syd Young.
