Class 124 DMU at Selby

15th March 1979

A general view of the northern end of Selby station on 15th May 1979. A Trans-Pennine set, with E51967 leading, eases over the Ouse swing bridge before calling in with a Hull - Manchester Piccadilly service. Still plenty of railway-related detail around, along with a full cycle shed. The occupants of the house on the right will no doubt be bracing themselves for the next Deltic-hauled service to shake them to the core. Syd Young.

circa 1985

Class 124 DMCL E51967 on Darnall depot circa early 1985. Asbestos contaminated vehicles were taken there after withdrawal for boarding up (and component recovery?) before their final journey to the scrapyard, which for this vehicle would be at Snailwell. Mike Bunker.
