It seems as if some farewells are occurring as a Hull - Manchester Trans-Pennine service with E52104 leading awaits departure from a sub-zero Paragon Station on 17th February 1979. Syd Young.

On an unknown date, the driving position of 52104 is photographed at speed, by an enthusiast who boarded the service at Carnforth. 52089, whose cab was occupied by a driver of course, was the leading car in the formation. Daniel Hopkins.

A 4-car Trans-Pennine set, with Swindon Inter City E52104 closest, sits under the roof at Paragon Station on 6th October 1982. Syd Young.
Back in the day when there were two main and two relief lines between Melton and Gilberdyke, E52104 leads a Trans-Pennine working from Hull to Manchester through Broomfleet on April 5th 1983. On this occasion, the train is made up of a four-car Swindon-built Inter-City set with a two-car Metro Cammell on the rear. Syd Young.
