An unusual Met Camm - the only non-refurbished unit to wear Regional Railways livery. L835, with DMBS 51432 and DMCL 51498 is pictured at Manchester Piccadilly with the 1047 stopping service to Sheffield on 8 March 1997. The set number comes from it's days based at Reading when the unit was part of the large Network South East fleet, it was transferred to Longsight in Manchester on 17th December 1993, but wasn't repainted into Regional Railways livery for another year. Other Longsight-based Class 101s had received a full refurbishment prior to being repainted, and had set numbers of the format 1016xx. Chris Boon.

Network South East Met Camm set L836 rumbles under the Iron Bridge at Lowestoft heading for Norwich, with a long winter shadow cast by the sun, on 6 February 1994. The unit, along with sister L840, had been transferred to Crown Point from Reading in the previous month, to supplement the Class 150 fleet used on local services from Norwich. The unit was subsequently moved to Tyseley and used as a route learner, before being withdrawn in 1996. Both vehicles, 51434 and 51503, would enter preservation. Chris Boon.

Note the fine semaphore signals and signal box in the background. Chris Boon.
The last Met Camms to operate from Crown Point were former Reading Network SouthEast units L836 and L840. The former, with vehicles 51434 and 51503, is seen in Jubilee Carriage Sidings in Norwich in the company of Regional Railways 150 231 on 11 February 1994. Chris Boon.
Class 101 DMU set L837 departs from Redhill, date unknown. Closest is presumably 53751, it moved from Neville Hill to Reading in January 1988 and was in NSE livery by June 1989 so this could be circa 1988, and obviously winter. A Class 117 can be seen in the platform behind. Stuart Mackay Collection.
