Mr.Stanley said that the question of vehicles being out of service for minor repairs had now been cleared but there had recently been an abnormal number of vehicles detained with flats on tyres. In addition, five vehicles were damaged by collision between June and December.
It was agreed that the Chief Mechanical Engineer be asked for particulars for all Regions of the number of vehicles in shops under and awaitin repair, reasons for shopping and time in shops. It could then be seen whether the L.M. experience was typical.
Cost of fitting hand holds suspended from the ceilings of the buses noted, and agreed no action be taken.
Mr.Dow reported that the case for the withdrawal of the passenger service for submission to the T.U.C.C. was not yet complete, but it was hoped that this would be cleared by the next meeting.
Noted that, following the further meeting with the N.E.Region on September 25th, arrangements are proceeding satisfactorily.
