665.  SCHEMES UNDER CONSIDERATION BY COMMITTEE BUT NOT YET SUBMITTED TO B.T.C.  (Contd.)

(d)  Maintenance and fuelling facilities Marylebone Carriage Shed

Mr.Baker reported that no difficulty was being experienced in the preparation of the scheme, but he thought that complications may arise in the future in respect of the staffing of the depot due to the different rates and conditions applicable to ex G.C. staff.

(d)  Liason with Western Region and L.T.E.

Mr.Pearson asked whether benefit would be derived by the creation of a single control room and planning oprganisation for the operation of the new services on the L.M., W.R. and L.T.E. and, whilst Mr.Gould agreed that any reduction in control is commendable, he felt that in this case the existing liason was the best possible.

2.  Priority Schemes

(a)  Manchester Part 3 (N.E.Lancs.) - Being revised following decision not to proceed with adaption of Accrington motive power depot.  Mr.Gould would arrange for the preparation of the scheme to be dealt with specially.

(b)  North Wales Part 3 (Chester (Northgate), Wrexham (C) and New Brighton) - Final report expected to be completed shortly.

(c)  Derby, Nottingham, Leicester Part 2

Mr.Gould referred to the complications of agreeing requirements on various services involving different sections of the Eastern Region, but said that the Divisional Traffic Manager is dealing specially with the preparations of the schemes.

(d)  Manchester Central - Liverpool Central Express Services - Having regard to the fact that delivery of 24 high-density vehicles will commence in January, 1960, Mr.Gould will arrange for preparation of scheme to be dealt with specially.

666.  DIESEL MULTIPLE UNIT DE LUXE PULLMAN SERVICE MANCHESTER - ST.PANCRAS

(a)  Delivery of Trains - Noted that Metro-Cammell hope to delivery one 6-car train in September, 1959 and one 6-car train in October, 1959.  It will be impracticable to start this service with the commencement of the winter timetable and the trains will not be included in the 1959/60 Winter timetable.  Arrangements are being made for the trains to be included in the working timetable so that consequential alterations can be known and included in the public timetable.
