Paul Moxon remembers "I have it in my head that I visited Cohen’s yard at Swansea twice and initially there was a driving car visible coupled up as in a complete set, and in the centre of the yard, there was an intermediate car almost completely covered in a mountain of scrap. When I went back (possibly later that year) the set had been cut and all that was left was the intermediate car in the heap." Other notes about this time: "There was a pair(?) of sets dumped outside Swindon Works amidst rumours they were to be preserved, and I also saw one set withdrawn at Bristol, Marsh Junction. – I guess this would have been summer 1974."
One set was noted dumped behind the shed at Cardiff Canton without its power cars circa 1974.
