Initial instructions were from the 33003 series of booklets and were specific to these vehicles.
This covers batch the batch two power cars. It is a revised version from August 1958 - does anyone have a copy of the original?
This covers batch the batch three power cars.
Comparing the two booklets it can be seen that the batch two vehicles power cars were delivered with dynamos, unpowered vehicles had 25 gallon fuel tanks heater controls were the single vehicle type. Batch three power cars had alternators, the unpowered vehicles 32 gallon fuel tanks, and heating controls were the through train type.
The two booklets above cover the AEC engined power cars, not the Leyland engined batch four and five vehicles. Was there more of these booklets to cover those? If you have a copy please let me know.
In 1961 a new version was issued covering all Blue Square vehicles - BR 33003-92. A companion to this was a "Preparation and Disposal" booklet BR 33003/211.
In 1968 the booklets were replaced by a three part set for Blue Square vehicles Mechanical Transmission):
BR 33003/247 1 - General Data And Equipment
BR 33003/248 2 - Driving Instructions Including Standard Preparation and Disposal Duties
BR 33003/249 3 - Fault Finding Data and Charts
In the early seventies the 33003 series was replaced by the more generic 33056 series of drivers manuals, no longer specific to any coupling code.
