E50263 leads a Newcastle-Darlington train past Wheatleywell Lane, Plawsworth, early 1982. Interestingly the rear DMC has been replaced by a DMBS. The first class accommodation in the leading car appears to have been downgraded as there's no yellow stripe above the windows. Elsewhere on www.railcar.co.uk, it's reported that this set was formed of vehicles E50263 + E59063 + E59084 + E51211 at that time, which is consistent with the vehicle types seen in this view. Simon Hadden.
Four-car set E50263 + 59063 + 59084 + 51211 at Castleton on May 3rd, 1982, taken from (Taken from 50233. Much has changed here, not only the long gone class 101 DMUs but also the track 50263 is on, that platform and signal box, in fact there is little sign they were ever there. John Carter.
This unusual shot shows Class 101 DMS(L) E53263 running alone at Low Fell Junction, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, in 1984. Graeme Phillips Collection.
Class 101 cars E53263 E51216 make a smokey departure from what was then Newcastle platform 5 with a local service to Durham, 02/06/1988. To the left is an HST power car, which must have been an early recipient of the updated 'Swallow' version of InterCity livery. Graeme Phillips Collection.
Class 101 Metro Cammell 2-car DMU set CH619 53263+53306 (DMCL+DMSB) leads a Class 108 3-car into Llandudno with a 'Conwy Valley Sunday Shuttle' service 6-8-89 ish. The rear set is former BX377, now CH377, 52049+59390+51943. The Met Cam had been withdrawn by the end of the year. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
A Darlington allocated four-car Met-Camm arrives into Prestonpans station on 10 May 1969. The cars are recorded as E50193 + 59068 + 59075 + 50263, the first is still in green but the others are in Rail Blue. A Gloucester twin can be seen departing in the distance. Stuart Mackay Collection.
