A Derby suburban set (later Class 116) with M50914 closest is seen on the viaduct at Galton on October 22nd, 1966. Michael Mensing.
Class 116 DMU set TY531 with M50914 closest seen at Hartlebury station with a Great Malvern service in mid-1973. Michael Mensing.
Class 116 DMU set TY531 leads a Class 120 and probably a Class 101 seen in Duddeston station in late July 1975. Closest appears to be M50914. Note "Vauxhaull" on the station lamps - the original station name, and it had been known as Vauxhall and Duddeston until June 1974. Michael Mensing.
A DMU formation at Wigston heading to Birmingham New Street circa mid-1970s. The Class 116 appears to be set TY536 (50833 + 59442 + 50914), the rear set appears to be a Class 120. Phillip Malin.
A Derby Class 116 trio passes Smethwick Rolfe Street on Saturday 2nd October 1982 with the 14:00 Birmingham New Street to Kidderminster service. Driving Motor Brake 2nd M50052 is the leading car (set TS531, presumably with 59341 + 50914). Why was I at Smethwick Rolfe Street? This was the nearest station to where the Warley Model Railway Club used to hold their annual exhibition prior to it moving to the NEC. At the time Snow Hill was an abandoned wasteland and the prospect of it ever reopening seemed highly unlikely. Fortunately, trains for Kidderminster have reverted to the former Great Western lines within Birmingham and no longer pass through Smethwick Rolfe Street. Brian McDevitt.
