The 1981 BLS Scottish Tour was the Ayrshire Wanderer which ran in two parts. The Saturday tour (on 29 August) started and finished at Glasgow Central and here we are at Killoch Colliery. It was formed of Class 107 set 428 (52013 + 59786 + 51988). Alistair Ness.

107728 (presumably 51988 + 59786 + 52013) departing Kilmarnock with the 12:54 to Glasgow Central, 22-08-89. Classic d.m.u. traction for the Killie - Glasgow service, not long before the Sprinters took over. The line from here to Barrhead (with a loop at Lugton) was stupidly singled in 1974. It was re-doubled between Stewarton and Lugton in 2008 / 09 and now a half hourly service to operates from Kilmarnock to Glasgow. The former line to Dalry passed under the bridge on the left.
