These services, nicknamed as the 'Marlow Donkey' required a reversal at Bourne End station. Passengers could connect with Reading - Paddington local services at Maidenhead.
Some services terminated at Bourne End, some ran through to Paddington. Until 1970 the line also had a DMU service from High Wycombe.
