E52084 on the rear of a Calder Valley set in the centre road at Sheffield circa 1970. John Law.
Following a heavy shower the sun had reappeared as a six-car Calder Valley DMU formation with Driving Motor Composite Lavatory Car E52084 leading, was approaching Preston with a Bradford to Blackpool North service on September 17th 1977. For many years the daily return service between West Yorkshire and Blackpool was the only regular passenger service to travel over the Copy Pit route. The Rolls-Royce engined Class 110 fleet based at Bradford Hammerton Street Depot were subsequently regular visitors to Preston and on busy Summer Saturdays in the early to mid 1970's, a 9-Car lash-up was not uncommon. Martyn Hilbert.
A train for Huddersfield formed of a Class 110 DMU (52084 closest) awaits departure from Clayton West on 22nd January 1983, the final day of service on the 3.5 mile branch from Shepley Junction. This is now the site of the terminus of the Kirklees Light Railway. Paul Braybrook.
Class 110 52084 + 59703 + 51820 at Clayton West, leading 51822 + 59710 + 51840, on 22 January 1983 - the last day of passenger services on the branch. Rob Paterson.
E52084 at Clayton West on 22 January 1983, the last day of public services. Rob Paterson.
Stepping up at Cleethorpes. A former "Calder Valley" BRCW class 110 DMU (E52084 closest) is seen at Cleethorpes in late 1987 having arrived from Barton-upon-Humber. On the left is a set of steps used to climb aboard from the lower platform level, a far cry from today's step free access requirements everywhere. Murray Liston.
Departing Leeds with the 11:40 to Scunthorpe is a Class 110 led by 52084, 3rd Sept 1988. Lee Senior.
Class 110 power car E52084 at Snailwell on August 12th 1989. Nicholas Youngman.
Crowds gather at the Clayton West branch terminus following the arrival of one of the trains on the final day of passenger services from Huddersfield, Saturday 22nd January 1983. The vehicles are 51840 + 59710 + 51822 and 51820 + 59703 + 52084. Andrew Walker.
Barton Bound BRCW. A former "Calder Valley" BRCW class 110 DMU with centre car removed, is seen approaching New Clee station in late 1987 with a Cleethorpes to Barton-upon-Humber shuttle. The rear car is probably E52084. Murray Liston.
