Coventry - Birmingham New Street

Services were normally operated by Birmingham allocated Met-Camms.

1st October 1961

A BRC&W twin set, M56184 leading, arriving at Kenilworth on 1 October 1961. Despite Rugby on the blind, Michael recorded this as the 4.35pm Birmingham New Street - Coventry service, diverted from the Tile Hill line because of pre-electrification works which required a reversal at Kenilworth. 1st October 1961

A two-car BRC&W set changes lines as it departs from Kenilworth station on 1 October 1961. This was the 4.35pm Birmingham New Street - Coventry service, diverted from the Tile Hill line because of pre-electrification works which required a reversal at Kenilworth. The rear vehicle is DTCL M56184. Michael Mensing.

Class 104 DMU at Stechford

3rd March 1962

On March 3rd 1962 a BRC&W set (DMBS M50534 and presumably DTC M56177) and Met-Camm set are seen at Stechford working the 12.50pm Birmingham New Street - Coventry service. The vehicles would be allocated to Ryecroft depot at this time. Michael Mensing.
