Carlisle - Barrow-in-Furness
At some point some Carlisle - Whitehaven services began to be extended to Barrow-in-Furness.
For many years they were operated by Class 108 DMUs allocated to Carlisle Kingmoor depot.

A Class 108 DMU at Seascale, Cumbria in 1974. These Class 108 power-trailer sets were the mainstay of Cumbrian Coast services for many years, finally replaced in late 1991. On 12 June 1982, a class 108 dmu pair in blue/grey leaves Ravenglass station en route from Carlisle to Barrow. Calder Hall and Windscale powers astations can be seen in the distance. Jeremy Chapter.
