Ayr MPD allocated refurbished Class 101 Set No.172 is seen waiting for departure time in Ardrossan Harbour Station on the 3rd May 1978. Formed of DMBS SC51469 leading, TCL SC59557 intermediate, & DMCL SC51536 trailing she is forming a Boat Train service to Glasgow Central Station. Derby class 107 3 car unit 107439 is the leading unit forming the 11.15 service to Glasgow Central waiting to leave the rather grand station at Ayr on 7th April 1984. The leading vehicle, sporting an Ayr depot sticker, is DMBS Sc52000.
