Two mixed-livery Class 101s pass through Princes Street Gardens after leaving Edinburgh Waverley with a Dundee service on 22 August 1980. Set 197 leads, probably SC50141 at the front. Its centre car is one of the Met-Camm buffets. Taken by HC Casserley. Stuart Mackay Collection.
The 16:03 from Dunblane arrives into Falkirk Grahamston (which is undergoing 'modernisation'). The photographer notes the power cars as 53141 + 53172, and The centre car carries the HA depot 'castle' logo. Hamish Stevenson.
101307 led by DMC Sc53141 passes through Princes Street Gardens - ca June 1986. The DMBS would presumably be Sc51231. Andrew McConnell.
Many Met-Camm sets in the DMU sidings in Haymarket depot in 1988. Closest is 101316 (the DMC is presumably 53141), at the stops on the left is 53447. S Saunders.
Poor availability of Class 143 Pacers due to failures of their gearboxes, led to a large influx of First Generation DMUs to Heaton depot, Newcastle, particularly from Autumn 1987, to maintain local services in the north-east. A number of Class 101s came from Scotland, and that is clearly the case for the rear car SC53141 in this view of a service passing South Bank, Cleveland, heading east towards Saltburn, on Friday 29/04/1988. Graeme Phillips Collection.
Sc53141 (still carrying it's last ScR set number) + 53214 at Appleby on November 3rd, 1988. John Carter.
53141 at Snailwell on 12th September 1990. Many Scottish 101's got transferred to Heaton or Neville Hill (this went to HT then NH). Very little got changed to them as they were withdrawn not long after. Nicholas Youngman.
A Darlington - Shildon "Cavalcade 150" Special at Heighington on 31 August 1975. Leading is a Class 108 four-car formed 50633 + 59245 + 59388 + 50644, followed by a four-car Class 101 with 50141 + 59577 visible, and a three-car Class 101 on the rear. Hugh Llewelyn.
One of the DMU shuttles that ran from Darlington to Shildon for the Rail 150 Cavalcade on 31 August 1975. Helpfully, the November 1975 Railway Observer listed the formations of these shuttles and this one can be identified as, left to right, 59388 + 50644, 50141 + 59577 + 59081 + 50189 and 51439 + 59538 + 50143. Stuart Mackay Collection.
This 1984 Haymarket depot view contain sets 407 (presumably Class 122 55007) and Met-Camm set 101317 (possibly 53141). S Saunders.
53214 + 53141 at Appleby on November 3rd, 1988. John Carter.
