DMU Operations: Eastern Region
North Walsham - Mundeseley-on-Sea
DMUs were introduced to this 5¼ mile service on Monday 9 April 1956.
Lightweight DMUs, from Derby and Met-Camm, were used, which were allocated to Norwich depot.
The branch closed to passengers in October 1964.

E79040 at Mundesley, date unknown, the DMUs were inroduced to the Mundesely branch in April 1956. A more unusual viewpoint, showing end details not normally seen in images - the lettering, distinct exhaust design, waist level jumpers and a water filler pipe for the coolant header tanks mounted in the vestibule ceilings.
