18th February 1981

Low February light catches hybrid set 204 (101/101 and a 105 DMBS on the rear) as the unit passes Haymarket depot with the 15:19 Waverley to Dunblane working, February 18, 1981. Bruce Galloway.

Class 105 DMU at Falkirk Grahamston

9th July 1981

On July 9th 1981, the 10.58 Dunblane - Edinburgh dmu arrives at Falkirk Grahamston. This is my only picture of a Cravens car in blue/grey livery. 51479 is marshalled in a 3 car set with two Metro-Cammell vehicles, the rear one is SC50748 but I have no record of the centre car. The Cravens car was withdrawn in November 1981 and has already lost its destination blind. It is showing set number 375 which has later been prefixed with 105. It spent all its 22 years in service in Scotland. Gerard Fletcher.

Class 101 DMU at Falkirk

2nd July 1983

On 2nd July 1983 a Met Camm 3 car unit (326 or 328) approaches Swing Bridge East signal box with local service 2H73, the 1440 Edinburgh to Dunblane. The slightly ornate box, located between Falkirk Grahamston and Camelon, controlled a bridge (of the swing variety - but you'd guessed that) over the Forth and Clyde Canal. Bruce Galloway.

Class 101 DMU at Haymarket

17th November 1984

A 3 car unit forming 2G61 1328 Dunblane to Edinburgh approaches Haymarket East Junction, the service presumably routed through the Fife platforms to clear 1O33 1400 Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh, the DBSO of which can be seen in the distance. 47708 'Waverley' was the motive power for 1O33. 17th November 1984. The 16:03 from Dunblane arrives into Falkirk Grahamston (which is undergoing 'modernisation'). The photographer notes the power cars as 53141 + 53172, and The centre car carries the HA depot 'castle' logo. Hamish Stevenson.

Class 101 DMU at Polmaise

7th October 1985

A Metro Cammell 3 car unit passes Polmaise box working 2P11 1206 Edinburgh to Dunblane local service on 7th October 1985. In the far background, Stùc a' Chroin and Ben Vorlich dominate with Stirling Castle and the town in the mid distance. To the right of the unit can just be seen the start of the branch to Polmaise Colliery, Bruce Galloway.

Set 120 535, on the right with 53733 leading 59065 and 53215, leaves Edinburgh Waverley on 9/4/88, forming the 15.10 to Dunblane. As it does so, it passes set 120 532 (53699/59571/53658), coupled to 120533 (53682/59532/53700) which is not visible. These latter two sets will form the 15.13 to Cowdenbeath. Leonard Rogers.
