On Tuesday 30 December 1975 at 13:40 a Derby 2-car 'heavyweight' dmu passes Holmes Jct, Rotherham with [2J63] the 12:33 York-Sheffield local. Mr Deltic.

26th November 1981

It is 10.10pm by the station clock and the fume-filled York station is captured during a brief period of inactivity as Lincoln-allocated and Derby 1956-built class 114 unit No.50006-56036 gurgles away in the bay platform 11 forming a late-evening stopping service to Sheffield on 26th November 1981. My overnight on the station was just unfolding with much action to be witnessed over the next 10 hours! Gordon Edgar.

2nd July 1982

This pair of recently repainted dmus make a pleasant scene standing at the south end of York station on my visit of July 2nd 1982. Norwich based twin sets could turn up just about anywhere it seemed and here Cravens Class 105 set 54 formed of E56440 + E51279 is on the left having arrived as the 10.37 from Sheffield. Derby built set E50618 + E56190 has come in from Doncaster. Gerard Fletcher.

21st April 1984

The unmistakable outline of the Craven's Ltd class 105 2-car DMU. These pair are seen at Sheffield Midland on April 21, 1984 in the town of their birth as Cravens Ltd had their factory in nearby Darnall. When lightly loaded the bus style seats and alloy window frames along with the luggage racks could reach a crescendo of noise loud enough to drown out the diesel engines but they were a DMU full of character. The set on the left is seen idle between turns on the down through siding while in the platform sits another set waiting to form service 2H06 the 16.40 to York via Pontefract Baghill. 23rd July 1986

Taken at 7.00pm at Ulleskelf on the York - Leeds line on 23/7/86. The unit appears to be ex-works and possibly on a York-Sheffield service via Pontefract Baghill. Ted Dinning.

April 1988

Containing two vans this Class 110 DMU has a Class 108 TBS centre car. Seen at York Holgate heading for Sheffield in April 1988, the vehicles are presumably 52077 + 59246 + 51818. George Woods.
