The DMUs took over from steam on this route over the Pennines via Barnard Castle from 6 January 1958.
Two-car Met-Camm DMUs were initially used (probably the newly delivered 2K batch and the earlier 2E batch), later three-car TBSL sets were noted. The timetable below describes the vehicles including helpfully noting the seats were blue in first and green in second.
The Stainmore line closed in January 1962, the Barnard Castle section remained open until November 1964.
This measured 4 1/4" x 6" when folded.
