DMU Operations: North Eastern Region


Darlington-Richmond

DMUs were introduced to the service on 19 August 1957[1][2]. Passenger services ended on 3 March 1969.

Class 101 DMU at Richmond

14th December 1968

Met-Camm DMUs at Richmond on December 14, 1968, just before closure of the line. The station, and many of the associated buildings still survive in other uses. The United bus depot next door has recently been demolished. The DMBS in the first set is in blue livery. John Carter Collection.
