Class 101 DMU at Hull

12th October 1978

On 12/10/1978, a Metro-Cammell unit is seen departing from Hull with 1417 to Leeds. Graeme Phillips Collection.

Class 124 DMU at York

1979

A Trans-Pennine set at York station in 1979 on the 11:00 am Sundays only Hull to Leeds via York service. The leading power car with the headlight, single wiper and angled electrification flash suggests it is E51961. Mike Hudson.

Class 114 DMU at Hull Paragon

17th April 1979

A Derby Class 114 two-car set with No. E56012 leading departs Hull Paragon for Leeds on the evening of 17th April 1979. The unit still has it's 2-character headcode panel and roof headlight. Syd Young.

15th May 1979

1330 Leeds City to Hull. Mix of 123/124 vehicles. MARK LEVING.

Class 108 DMU at Brough

31st March 1981

An unidentified two-car Class 108 set pauses at Brough on the evening of 31st March 1981 with a Hull - Leeds service. At this date, Brough still had it's original waiting shelters, bay platforms and wooden crossing gates. The area to the right of the photograph was the goods yard which disappeared under a housing development in the late 1980s. Syd Young.

Class 101 DMU at Hull

3rd July 1981

A 2 car Metro Cammell unit rasps it's way out of Hull with a morning Leeds bound service. Nice variety of units under the roof and a busy looking set of carriage sidings in the foreground. 3rd July 1981. Bruce Galloway.

12th September 1981

In the days when Selby was on the East Coast Main Line, a four-car Class 101 and four-car Class 104 with DMCL E50566 at the rear, was forming a Leeds to Hull service on Saturday September 12th 1981. Martyn Hilbert.

Smashed at Selby. One of the Rolls Royce engined Metro-Cammell 3 car sets, sadly with its 4 character headcode panel plated over, is seen waiting at Selby on a service to Hull on 27th Feb 1982. Murray Liston.

5th April 1983

A four-car Metro-Cammell DMU With E50168 leading approaches the bridge over the Market Weighton Canal with a service from Hull to Leeds on 5th April 1983. At the time of posting there are just two tracks and two coaches on services to Leeds. Syd Young.

Met-Camm Class 111 DMC 53272 arriving at Leeds from Hull on 20 July 1983. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.

7th April 1984
