This route involved Outer Circle (clockwise) and Inner Circle (anti-clockwise) services, as well as the branches to Uplawmoor and Kirkhill.
DMUs were used on this service until 26th May 1962, after which EMUs were used. The summer 1962 timetable, starting three weeks after the EMUs were introduced, still showed it as a DMU service.
The release of sets from this service would allow the remaining Largs and Ardrossan services to be dieselised from 18 June.
