51867 at the end of a Class 115 set in London Marylebone on the 12th March 1983. Chris Lings.
Class 115 Derby high-density car leads a 4-car DMU stabled alongside Nuneaton station June 1987. Just possible this is DMBS 51867. On Tour With The Class 13 Army.
Class 115 Derby DMBS 51867 of set T412 stands in a siding at Tyseley depot 28-11-88. Went for scrap May 1992 - plenty of life left in it at this point! On Tour With The Class 13 Army.
A hybrid DMU (set T412, presumably Class 115 51867 closest) and another suburban DMU in Gravelly Hill on 11 February 1989. Two units on Birmingham Cross-City workings pass in the station. Alistair Ness.
BR (Derby) Class 115 4-car suburban dmu No.M51658 (Class 115), M59656 (173), M59665 (177), M51867 (115) in BR Rail Blue and all yellow front ends arrives at Marylebone on a service from Aylesbury, 07/75. Hugh Llewelyn.
Tyseley DMU depot includes Class 114 Derby 2-car parcel DMU T021 (53038 + 54042) and another unidentified set plus high density stock (including 51867 from T412 on the left) on 28-11-88. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
Droitwich Spa on 28 September 1990 - Tyseley-based set TS412 is approaching working the 12.00 Birmingham New Street-Great Malvern. I recorded the power cars as 53116 (leading) and 51867. Lewis Bevan.
Tyseley's set T412 at Small Heath station, which should have been headed by 53102 but had been reformed with 53116, followed by 59591, 59668 and 51867, on 17/Nov/1990. The formation was a mixture of class 116, 127 and 115 which was normal for most of the four-car sets at Tyseley at the time. Robert Chilton.
Tyseley's four car sets were mostly formed of class 115, 116 and 127 as was the case on 6 May 1991 when I photographed T412 (53055 + 59446 + 59591 + 51867) passing the now demolished Smethwick West signalbox with a Hereford to Birmingham New Street train. The class 47 waiting at the signal was 47813 working a railtour that had just visited Handsworth in the days before the line was re-opened through to Snow Hill. Just behind the camera the Handsworth line crossed the Birmingham New Street to Wolverhampton route. This is now the site of Galton Bridge Station interchange where passengers can change trains between the two lines thus making the old Smethwick West station redundant. It's worth noting that any train leaving the Handsworth branch including this railtour had to run wrong line as far as Rood End Yard between here and Langley Green. Peter Tandy.
