A scene that epitomises the early years of DMU travel in Yorkshire. A Rolls-Royce powered Metropolitan-Cammell 3-car unit with E50278 trailing stands in platform 1B at Huddersfield forming a service to Wakefield Kirkgate on a misty winter's day in the 'pre-whisker' era of the late-1950s, possibly shortly after delivery in January 1958 (to Hammerton Street). 15th May 1979

20th May 1980

Standing under the roof at Huddersfield station is Metro-Cammell DMBS 51425 (class 101) which will form the 13.15 Huddersfield - Wakefield service. I cannot now recall why we were at Huddersfield on 20th May 1980, I suspect that, as the weather looks "challenging", we had a ride round on the train. This is one of the occasions when I wish we had taken more pictures because the old station looks an interesting place. Geoff Dowling.

Class 110 BRCW 3-car DMU with DMBC 51823 closest in the bay at Huddersfield with a service for Wakefield Westgate 30-10-82 Full set was 51823 + 59698 + 51836. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
