Having not long arrived with an afternoon service from St Albans, a CW allocated 4 Car Class 127 Diesel Hydraulic DMU set, sits in Platform 7 at St Pancras awaiting its next duty, with a rather unusual paint job on the leading vehicle M51615 (Which seems to have been applied for an unknown reason around Sept 1979) .... Withdrawn from Cricklewood on 7th August 1983, it was converted to a Parcels vehicle and renumbered to 55975 from May 1985 and allocated to Longsight. Final withdrawal came four years later and it was scrapped by Vic Berry's at Leicester .... 7th September 1982. Nigel Mack.
A Class 127 DMU on a St Pancras to Bedford working passes the sidings at Cambridge Street. The white dome/gutter and dent on the cab corner identify the closest vehicle as M51615. Undated, the blue/grey centre car means it's no earlier than October 1982. Curly42.
An assortment of parcels DMUs converted from former "Bed-Pan" hydraulic class 127 units stand forlornly withdrawn in Crewe Basford Hall yard on 21/Jul/1990, with 55975 (formerly 51615) nearest. Three vehicles from these parcels conversions were subsequently preserved. Behind 55975 can just be seen departmental coach ADB977191, formerly class 100 56106, which was later moved for storage at Crewe Brook Sidings and ultimately disposed of at Crewe Works in 2000. Class 127 55985, set number 915, is seen at Tyseley on 03.05.1986 unusually coupled with 54052, and not it's usual partner 55975. 55985 was converted from 51619. Andy Cole.

At approx 1500hrs on Saturday 13th May 1989 sets 915 (55975 + 55985) and 920 (55966 + 55967) creep slowly up the centre Road at Northampton Station. Their destination unknown, by 1100hrs the following Day all 4 cars were tucked up inside the DMU Shed at Manchester's Longsight Depot. AndrewHA.
