Class 115 DMU at Aylesbury

8th January 1984

Several Class 115 Suburban 4-Car DMU sets were stabled for the weekend to the North of Aylesbury station on January 8th 1984. The nearest set in this view was formed of cars M51888, M59747, M59743 & M51900. Built in 1960 at Derby for use on services from Marylebone over the ex GC & GC/GW joint lines, the units were also employed on longer distance workings to Nottingham Victoria in the twilight years of the Great Central Main Line as a trunk route.
