Class 127 DMU Parcels conversion set 912 (55982 + 55972) in Platform 2 at Crewe, 10 June 1986. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
This Class 127 (51612 + 59590 + 51596) in Cricklewood station in the summer of 1983 had been given a thorough clean, service and the paintwork touched up at Cricklewood depot. Apparently either the Greek Railways or a private line in Greece needed some new passenger trains at the time these were due to be withdrawn. The set then made a number of trial runs with various Greek officials onboard. Sadly nothing came of the affair. Note the white gutter the length of the train. Arno Brooks.
Class 127 parcel set 912 (55972 + 55982) pass through Bentham station with two GUVs and a BG in tow. Dated as 1986, it will be in the first few months of the year as it was fitted with roller shutters by June. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Former Bedford-St Pancras Diesel Hydraulic Red Triangle DMU Driving Cars 55972 (51611) & 55982 (51596) running as Parcel Unit 912, were passing Daisyfield level crossing at Blackburn with a diverted Workington to Manchester mail service on March 29th 1986. The unit had a CCT van as a tail load. Martyn Hilbert.
When the Class 127 DMUs finally bowed out of the St. Pancras - Bedford services, 22 power cars were resurrected from store at Carlisle Upperby (one of them, the pioneer 51591, was re-claimed from the NRM) and converted for parcels use. They were formed into 11 two car sets and allocated to Longsight in Manchester. Here set 918 with 55978 at the rear of 55968 is being led by set 912 (55972 & 55982) at Stafford, 20/Aug/1988. Robert Chilton.
